Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about how Lock Myself Out works and its limits.

Can I unlock a password early?+

No. Active locks cannot be cancelled or shortened. Once a lock is active, the protected information is unavailable until the unlock time you chose.

Can support unlock it for me?+

No. Support cannot reveal or release protected information early. There is no override available to anyone.

Does Lock Myself Out block applications directly?+

No. Lock Myself Out withholds the password or information needed to access an account. It does not disable websites, apps, or devices.

Can I still reset my password through the outside service?+

Possibly. Lock Myself Out cannot control the recovery tools offered by an outside website or application. If the service offers its own password reset, that path remains available to you.

Can I extend a lock?+

Yes. Active locks may be extended to a later time. Extending is permanent — the earlier unlock time cannot be restored.

What happens when a lock ends?+

The protected information becomes eligible to reveal after you sign in. It is not displayed automatically; you choose when to reveal it.

Is the password automatically emailed to me?+

No. Passwords are never included in notification emails. Notifications only describe lock status, never protected information.
